This is the result of information provided by the Robert Koch Institute early Thursday morning. The previous record value within one day was 14,964 cases and was from the previous day. On Thursday a week ago, the health authorities had reported 11,287 new infections.
According to the RKI, a total of 481,013 people throughout Germany have been infected with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The number of deaths in connection with the virus rose by 89 to a total of 10,272 by Thursday. The RKI estimates that around 339,200 people have now recovered.
